Scott H. French was named global vice president, operational excellence, of Lear Corporation in July 2019. He is responsible for driving efficiencies, eliminating redundancies and capitalizing on synergies across Lear’s Seating and E-Systems businesses in the areas of quality, non-production purchasing, capacity planning, launches, logistics, facilities, manufacturing operating systems and continuous improvement.
French has more than 20 years of international operations experience in roles of increasing responsibility, including managing director, UK operations; vice president, European interiors; vice president, global materials; chief operating officer, Asia Pacific; vice president, global structures; vice president, global just-in-time operations; and vice president, operations for E-Systems.
Before joining Lear in 1998, French was operations manager for Lodan Electronics in Arlington Heights, Illinois. He also held operations roles at DaimlerChrysler and Delphi.
French earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and finance from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, and Master of Business Administration from Michigan State University. He received Ferris State University’s Pace Setter Award for demonstrated leadership and service to the profession, community, service organizations and alma mater.
